This is the first time I’ve come across rap newcomer Casey Veggies. I actually saw him at the Curren$y concert at El Rey and liked his gig, and then later downloaded his song 30,000 not knowing that it was the same guy. I really like that song, and since Casey is from LA, decided to download his mixtape Sleeping in Class. Check out the review, tracklist, and download after the break.

To be honest, I was a little disappointed since Thirty Thousand is by far the best song on the tape. The main thing that resonated with me was that, aside from a couple of songs, the tape lacked the fun and party vibe that I would have expected from a youngster. There were just too many songs about life in the hood, and not enough happy vibes. On the bright side, Casey is still young. I do think he has lots of potential, and I’m definitely feelin his swag. Casey, if you’re reading this, hit me up because I’d love to share some ideas I have about marketing your music. One love.
