iCan – mixtape – The All Seeing iCan
iCan of the ¥€$ Movement just dropped a solo project which he has dubbed The All Seeing iCan. I have to say that I was really excited to listen to this, especially considering the last mixtape iCan was a part of received the RapsLatest.com Best Mixtape of the Year.
When I first downloaded this, I was on business in Kansas City, and was able to throw in my headphones and listen to the entire mixtape all the way through. Though I tried to approach iCan’s project with an unbiased perspective, I couldn’t help but compare the tape to the ¥€$ mixtape. iCan’s flow is solid, but most of his hooks came across as rough and unpolished. Ab-Liva’s hooks are much stronger. Lucky for us, most rappers are like athletes, they getting better with time and practice. Since this is his first solo mixtape, you can bet that the more and more tapes and songs he puts out, the better his hooks will get.
His verses and raps are legit though, no doubt about that.
The final comment I have to make about this mixtape is an interesting one. When going through the mixtape again and deciding which songs to rate, all of the best songs are not the coke rap type that we’ve come to expect from the ¥€$ Movement. I think it’s kinda funny that 3/4 songs that I starred are crooning songs. The reason I probably liked them was because iCan didn’t do the hooks! Haha, anyways, enough hot air, download and enjoy.
