Not only is Def’s flow exceptional, but the production is fantastic throughout the entire tape. Quite possibly his hottest album to date, The Ecstatic places Mos Def on top of the game and lands him the number one spot on our list of 10 best rap albums of 2009.

This is a true Wu-Tang album, with lots of kung fu samples and twangy loops. Like in Pt. I, Ghostface is all over the album, and he holds it down just as much as Chef. This isn’t some 12 track drop either, there are a lot of songs, and since Raekwon held down each one in classic style, he gets the #2 spot on our top ten list of ’09.
